The Perfect Salmon Pasta

How To Make The Perfect Salmon Pasta

Salmon Pasta is excellent but can easily be overcooked, making it dry and uninteresting. That is the main problem with nearly all salmon dishes served at restaurants. (Cod is even worse, do not overcook!) Anyway, two simple recipes are mentioned. Let’s check out recipes of Salmon Pasta:

Different Dishes Of Salmon Pasta

  1. Salmon steaks fried on the skin – drizzle with some olive oil on all sides and massage it out evenly by hand, salt & pepper. Fry skin side down only in a blisteringly hot pan (nearly smoking) for ½ minute and turn off the heat. Cover the frying pan with a lid and let it rest for about 5 minutes. The residual heat will cook the salmon perfectly. Add boiled pasta. Serve some vegetables/salad with a twist of lemon on top.

Different Types Of Pasta In Sauce

  1. Salmon pasta in mustard sauce pies – salmon (any similar white fish) season and oil as above, put in buttered ramekins. It should be about 5 cm, 2-inch diameter individual serving size. Pour in a mixture of mayonnaise/mustard and milk whisked to a creamy sauce can add some chopped dill. Well, that’s optional (not entirely covering the fish). Stir with boiled pasta. Cover ramekins with puff pastry lid (frozen, pre-made) & bake in the oven – about 20 minutes. Just follow the pastry instructions for time & temperature. Serve with vegetables, salads whatever takes your fancy.

Garlic Salmon Pasta

  1. cut around 3-4 garlic cloves per serving into slivers.
  2. put the right amount of olive oil (enough to coat the amount of pasta you’re making) in a pan with the garlic and salmon. Add a few red-pepper-flakes.
  3. cook the oil and garlic at low heat, letting it get to a simmer but never to a boil. The goal is to steep the garlic and salmon into the oil and to soften the garlic, not fry it. Take it off the stove before the garlic turns brown (around 15 minutes).
  4. Meanwhile, cook your pasta in salted water (don’t be shy about the salt).
  5. When the pasta is ready, toss it with the oil/garlic.
  6. Serve with shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano and chopped parsley.

How To Make The Perfect Salmon Pasta
  • 5T olive oil
  • 2 oz butter
  • Two cloves of garlic, chopped finely
  • 1 3/4 oz salmon fillets chopped
  • 2 T rinsed capers
  • 5 oz stoned black olives stone & halved
  • 12 oz fresh or canned tomatoes
  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 2 T finely chopped parsley

Last Steps

Heat oil and butter in a frying pan. Saute garlic and salmon until the garlic is just starting to color. Add capers, olives, and tomatoes. Simmer gently for 20 mins. Cook spaghetti leaving slight resistance, drain and pour into pan with sauce. Cook together a few minutes. Sprinkle with parsley. Serve. It is traditionally served without cheese, but you can add 1/2 red chili seeded and chopped with the capers. Many people use a little dried chili.  The sauce tends to be salty if you use anchovy, capers, and olives – so adjust another seasoning
